Commercial Junk Removal Services
From our side of the truck, an office cleanout isn’t just about heavy lifting; it’s a high-stakes puzzle. Unlike a residential haul where we’re tossing bags, office jobs require us to be "surgical." We’re navigating tight hallways, padded elevators, and loading docks while working around active businesses or strict building management hours. We focus on Desk & Cubicle Removal because it’s a labor-intensive barrier for most managers—they have the trucks, but they don't have the tools or the crew to break down 40 workstations by Friday. Office Cleanouts in Flagstaff and Northern Arizona
An office cleanout is a deadline exercise. There’s a lease end, a move-in date, or a landlord walkthrough, and everything has to be out before it. The furniture is heavy, the elevators have rules, and the building has hours. That’s the part AZ Haul takes off your plate — we decommission Flagstaff offices cleanly and on schedule so you hit your walkthrough without the last-minute scramble.
What we clear out
We remove workstations and cubicle systems, desks and credenzas, conference tables, task and guest seating, filing cabinets and lateral files, shelving, whiteboards, lockers, breakroom appliances, and signage. Cubicle systems get broken down on site so they actually fit through the door and down the elevator instead of jamming a hallway.
Off-hours execution
Most cleanouts can’t happen during business hours, so we schedule around your operations — evenings, weekends, or a hard move-out weekend when the floor has to be empty by Monday. We work with building management on loading-dock times and elevator reservations so the day runs quietly and on plan.
Electronics and responsible disposal
Old monitors, PCs, printers, and network gear don’t belong in a landfill, and we route e-waste to proper recycling rather than the dump. Where we can, we donate usable furniture instead of trashing it — see how we think about diversion on our waste diversion hub.
Pairs with our other commercial services
Downsizing, relocating, or turning over a space? Office cleanouts pair naturally with our commercial junk removal, property manager services, and construction debris removal for post-buildout cleanup. Need a container on site? Ask about dumpster rental.

Office Cleanouts Built Around Your Deadline
Office cleanouts rarely happen on a relaxed schedule. A lease is ending, a team is moving across town, a department is shrinking, or a business is closing its doors for good. AZ Haul is a veteran-owned, locally owned crew based in Bellemont, and we’ve been helping Northern Arizona businesses clear out space since 2022. Here’s how we plan the work, what we take, and what you should handle before we show up.
Common Reasons for Office Cleanouts
Moving to a new space
Most moves are a good time to stop paying to move furniture you don’t want. We clear out the leftovers, the broken chairs, the extra filing cabinets, and the storage room nobody has opened in years, so your movers only handle what’s coming with you. Timing matters here, so we can work the day before, the day of, or after the movers leave.
Downsizing or going hybrid
Many businesses now need fewer desks and more meeting space. Partial office cleanouts let you pull out rows of workstations while the rest of the office keeps working. We’ll stage the work by area so the disruption stays small.
Closing a business or location
Closures are often the hardest jobs emotionally and the tightest on time. We can clear everything down to an empty, broom-swept space ready for a final walkthrough, which helps you meet the terms of your lease.
What We Remove During Office Cleanouts
If it’s in the office and it’s not hazardous, we can most likely take it. Typical items include:
- Cubicles and workstations: panel systems, worksurfaces, overhead bins, and pedestals, taken apart on site.
- Desks and tables: executive desks, L-shaped desks, standing desks, conference tables, and reception counters.
- Seating: task chairs, lobby chairs, stacking chairs, and couches from break areas.
- Storage: lateral and vertical filing cabinets, bookcases, metal shelving, lockers, and storage cabinets.
- Breakroom items: refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, and tables.
- Odds and ends: whiteboards, signage, rolled carpet remnants, boxes of old marketing materials, and general clutter.
Metal furniture like filing cabinets and steel shelving is usually recycled for scrap. Clean, usable desks and chairs go to donation partners when they’re accepting them. Whatever is left goes to the landfill.
Electronics and Data-Bearing Devices: Your Responsibility First
Computers, monitors, printers, copiers, phones, and network gear are part of almost every office cleanout. We route electronics to e-waste recycling instead of the landfill, but there’s an important step that has to happen before anything leaves your building: protecting your data.
Hard drives, solid-state drives, USB sticks, backup tapes, phones, and many copiers and multifunction printers store information. Some hold customer records, employee files, or financial data. We do not offer certified data destruction, so we ask every client to handle that piece before pickup. You have two good options:
- Wipe or destroy drives yourself. Your IT person or provider can wipe or physically destroy storage. The NIST Guidelines for Media Sanitization (SP 800-88) are the standard reference for how to do it properly.
- Use a certified data destruction service. If you need a certificate of destruction for compliance, hire a vendor that provides one, then let us take the stripped hardware and the rest of the office.
If your business handles credit reports or background checks, the FTC’s Disposal Rule guidance spells out your obligations for getting rid of that information. The same goes for paper files. Shred sensitive documents before the cleanout, or use a shredding service, so nothing private ends up in a load of trash.
Some electronics and supplies also have special disposal rules. Coconino County’s recycling guide lists local options, and leftover toner, batteries, cleaning chemicals, and paint can go to the City of Flagstaff’s Hazardous Products Center.
Scheduling Without Shutting Down Your Business
Our crews run from 8 AM to 6 PM, seven days a week. That means Saturday and Sunday office cleanouts are a normal day for us, not a special request. For offices that need to keep working during the week, we can:
- Start first thing at 8 AM before your staff and customers arrive.
- Book late-afternoon slots that finish by 6 PM, after most of your team has gone home.
- Work over a weekend so Monday starts with a cleared space.
- Split a large job into stages over several days, one area at a time.
The sooner you call, the easier it is to land the date you need, especially near the end of the month when many leases turn over.
Working With Property Managers and Building Staff
Commercial buildings have rules, and the best office cleanouts follow them. We’re used to coordinating with property managers and building engineers on:
- Loading dock times and where the truck can park.
- Freight elevator reservations and wall or floor protection.
- Certificate of insurance requests and building access.
- The condition the space needs to be in for the final walkthrough.
If you’re a property manager clearing out a unit after a tenant leaves, we can work directly with you, send before-and-after photos, and bill the job to your company. For ongoing work, our recurring commercial billing is monthly, net 30, with before/after photos. Learn more on our property manager services page.
How to Prepare for Your Office Cleanout
- Walk the space and tag what stays. Colored tape or sticky notes on keep items prevent mix-ups.
- Clear desks and drawers. Ask employees to remove personal items and anything they want to keep.
- Handle data first. Wipe or destroy drives, shred files, and factory-reset copiers and phones.
- Disconnect equipment. Have IT unplug and label anything that’s being kept, so it doesn’t get mixed in with outgoing gear.
- Share building info. Send us dock hours, elevator rules, and a contact for building management.
- Send photos. A few pictures of each room help us bring the right crew size and trucks.
What Happens on Cleanout Day
We confirm the plan with your on-site contact when we arrive, walk the space together, and double-check the items tagged to stay. Then we protect the path out, starting with hallways, door frames, and elevator walls if the building requires it.
Next, we break down cubicles and large furniture, carry everything to the truck, and sort as we load. Metal, electronics, donation-ready pieces, and trash are kept apart so each one goes to the right place. Before we leave, we sweep the cleared rooms and do a final walkthrough with you so nothing gets missed.
For multi-day office cleanouts, we leave the space safe and orderly at the end of each day, with clear walkways and no loose debris for your staff or customers to deal with.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take apart cubicles?
Yes. Cubicle and panel systems are built to come apart, and we disassemble them on site so they fit through doors and into elevators.
Can you destroy our hard drives?
No. We don’t offer certified data destruction. Please wipe or destroy drives yourself or use a certified data destruction service before your office cleanout, and we’ll take the hardware after that.
Can you work outside our business hours?
We work 8 AM to 6 PM every day, including weekends. Early starts, late-afternoon slots, and weekend jobs are the usual way we keep your business running during a cleanout.
Do you only do whole-office jobs?
Not at all. We handle everything from a single storage room or a few desks to full floors. Small jobs and partial office cleanouts are welcome.
Where do you work?
We serve businesses in Flagstaff, Sedona, Williams, the Verde Valley, and nearby communities. For larger commercial projects, see our commercial services.
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free. Photos or a quick walkthrough help us give you an accurate number.
