Two Sizes
Small projects
Roughly 2–3 pickup loads. A shop corner, a single room, a small tear-out, or a season of accumulated scrap.
Full projects
Roughly 6 pickup loads. Barn and shop clear-outs, re-roofs, full property cleanups, and outbuilding demo.
Parks is on our Regional Rate. One flat number covering delivery, pickup, and disposal — call and we’ll quote it on the spot. See how our pricing works.
Built for Forest-Road Properties
Long, unpaved driveways
Half the properties off Spring Valley and Garland Prairie are a quarter mile of dirt. A roll-off truck won’t attempt most of them. A trailer will, and it won’t leave ruts where it sat.
Room to work
You’ve got the space out here, so we’ll set it exactly where the work is — beside the barn, at the shop door, next to the burn pile — instead of parking it at the road.
Heavy, awkward acreage junk
Fencing, T-posts, sheet metal, pallets, corral panels, and the trailer that stopped rolling in 2009. Scrap metal gets pulled and recycled rather than buried.
No permit on private property
On your own land there’s no county placement permit to chase. Delivery is usually within a day or two of the call.
What Goes In Around Here
- Fencing, posts, and wire
- Barn and shop clear-outs
- Scrap metal and sheet steel
- Outbuilding and shed demo
- Pallets and crating
- Slash, brush, and limbs
- Old furniture and mattresses
- Construction and remodel debris
- Roofing and siding
- Household cleanouts
Paint, chemicals, tires, and refrigerant appliances can’t go in any dumpster — the disposal facility sets that, not us. Here’s the full list so nothing gets turned away at the gate.
How It Works
- Call or request a quote. Address, project, rough timing. You get a flat number before anything is scheduled.
- We deliver and place it. Tell us where on the property. You don’t need to be home if you’d rather not be.
- Fill it, then call. We haul it off and the disposal is already in your price.
Questions Parks Owners Ask
My driveway is a half mile of dirt. Can you actually get down it?
Almost always, yes. That’s the whole reason we run trailers instead of roll-offs. If there’s a specific bad spot — a washout, a soft stretch, a low branch — mention it when you call and we’ll plan around it rather than getting stuck.
Can you put it right next to the barn instead of at the road?
Yes, if we can get there. Placing it where the work is means you’re not carrying scrap two hundred feet, which is most of what makes a cleanup drag on.
What happens to the scrap metal?
It gets pulled and recycled rather than landfilled. It doesn’t change your rate, but it keeps a few hundred pounds of steel out of the ground on a typical acreage cleanup.
How long can I keep it?
The base rate covers 24 hours, with additional days at a flat add-on. Property cleanups tend to run longer than people plan, so tell us realistically and we’ll quote the whole window up front.
Do you serve Bellemont and Garland Prairie too?
Yes. Bellemont is on our closer Flagstaff Area Rate, and Garland Prairie and Spring Valley are handled the same as Parks. Full list on our service areas page.

Why a Dumpster Rental in Parks Looks Different Than One in Town
Parks is not a subdivision. It is a spread-out rural community along I-40 and old Route 66, a few exits west of Bellemont, with homes on big lots and acreage tucked into the pines and open meadows. People out here keep horses, park equipment, build their own shops, and hang on to things because there is room to hang on to them.
That is the good part of rural life. The other part is that one day you look around and realize the pile behind the barn has been “temporary” for 15 years. A dumpster rental in Parks is usually not about one room or one remodel. It is about getting a whole property back under control.
We are based right next door in Bellemont, so we know these roads, the weather, and the kind of projects that come up. Here is what we have learned about doing it well.
Planning an Acreage Cleanup, One Zone at a Time
The biggest mistake on an acreage cleanup is trying to do everything at once. You start at the house, wander out to the shed, find a pile of fencing, and end the day tired with nothing finished. A better approach is to split the property into zones and work them in order.
Start with a walk-through
Before you book a dumpster rental in Parks, walk the whole property with a notepad or your phone. Write down each pile and roughly what is in it. Mark anything that cannot go in a dumpster, like tires, batteries, fuel cans, or old chemicals, so you can deal with those separately. Take photos of the worst areas. That list is what lets you pick the right size and a realistic rental window.
Sort into four piles as you go
- Keep: Tools, materials, and equipment you will actually use.
- Sell or give away: Usable lumber, panels, and gear someone else might want.
- Special handling: Tires, batteries, paint, oil, and refrigerant appliances.
- Dumpster: Everything else that goes in the trailer.
Sorting before the trailer arrives saves you rental days, keeps prohibited items out of the load, and gets more out of every dumpster rental in Parks.
Work from the far end back toward the trailer
If the dumpster sits near the barn or shop, start with the piles farthest away while you are fresh, and finish with the ones closest to the trailer. It sounds small, but on a big property it can save a lot of carrying at the end of a long day.
Outbuildings, Sheds, and Shops
Almost every property in Parks has at least one outbuilding, and many have three or four. Over the years they become storage, then overflow storage, then a place nobody wants to open.
Clearing out vs. tearing down
Clearing out a shed and tearing one down are very different jobs. A clear-out is mostly household junk, old furniture, boxes, and scrap. A teardown adds heavy material: framing, siding, roofing, sheet metal, and sometimes a wood floor. If you are doing both, clear the contents first, then demo the structure, so the bulky items go in early and the flat demo material packs on top.
If the building is too big or sketchy to take down yourself, our shed removal service can handle the teardown and hauling for you.
Watch for what is hiding inside
Old sheds and shops in rural areas tend to hold the things that cannot go in a dumpster: half-used cans of paint and stain, motor oil, antifreeze, weed killer, pesticides, and car batteries. Set these aside in a box as you find them. The Flagstaff Hazardous Products Center takes household hazardous waste like oils, paints, pesticides, and batteries, free for Coconino County residents with proof of residency. They have limits on container sizes and amounts, so check their page first if you have a big stash.
Scrap Metal, Old Vehicle Parts, and Equipment
Rural properties collect metal. Old T-posts, corrugated roofing, rusted burn barrels, broken trailers, engine blocks, bed frames, and parts from vehicles that left years ago. A lot of it is heavy, sharp, and awkward to move, and it is one of the most common reasons people call us for a dumpster rental in Parks.
Loading heavy metal safely
- Wear heavy gloves and boots. Old sheet metal and wire cut easily.
- Load the heaviest pieces first, low and spread across the floor of the trailer, not piled on one end.
- Lay long pieces like pipe and posts flat, front to back.
- Do not overload with dense metal alone. Mix it with lighter material so the load stays within safe weight.
Vehicle parts: drain first
Parts from old cars and trucks are fine to haul away as scrap, but fluids are not. Drain oil, gas, and coolant and take them for proper disposal. Pull batteries and set them aside. Tires go separately too. Coconino County lists its waste tire yards, hours, and fees in its waste tire disposal flyer, including the Flagstaff yard on East Penstock. Note that the county flyer says tires with rims are not accepted there, so plan accordingly.
If you have an entire vehicle to get rid of, that is a different process than a dumpster rental in Parks. Ask us and we will point you in the right direction.
Ranch and Horse-Property Debris in a Dumpster Rental in Parks
Parks has plenty of horse properties and small ranch setups, and they come with their own kind of mess. Common items we see on these jobs:
- Broken corral panels and gates
- Old barbed wire, field fence, and T-posts
- Rotted fence rails and railroad-tie-style posts
- Broken water troughs and feeders
- Collapsed lean-tos and loafing sheds
- Pallets, feed bags, and old tarps
Wire is the hardest part. Roll barbed wire and field fence into tight coils before loading so it does not tangle and spring back out. If you have materials you are not sure about, like large amounts of old hay or bedding, ask before loading so we can tell you whether they belong in the trailer.
Wildfire Prep and a Dumpster Rental in Parks
Parks sits in ponderosa pine country surrounded by national forest, and the dry, windy weeks of late spring and early summer are a real concern here. A property that has collected brush, dead trees, scrap wood, and old buildings for decades can carry a lot of fuel close to the house.
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management’s wildfire preparedness tips include clearing pine needles and debris from roofs, gutters, and decks, removing dead or dying plants near your home, storing firewood and propane away from the house, and keeping a buffer of about 30 feet clear around buildings. On acreage, that 30 feet is a great place to start, because it is where a cleanup does the most good for the least effort.
What to clear first around the house
- Scrap lumber, pallets, and junk stacked against the house, deck, or shop
- Dead brush and small dead trees inside that 30-foot zone
- Low branches on trees close to buildings
- Old woodpiles that are rotting and too close to the house
- Collapsed outbuildings full of dry wood
Many rural owners burn slash piles, but burning is not always allowed. The Coconino National Forest fire restrictions page explains how restrictions are set and how to check current status, including a hotline. Hauling slash away in a dumpster is a way to clear fuel without waiting for burn conditions or tending a fire. Check with your local fire district too, since they can advise on burning in your area.
Rural Access: Getting the Trailer Down Your Road
The FAQ above already covers long dirt driveways. Out here, the road itself is often part of the conversation, so here are the details that help.
Cattle guards and gates
Many properties in Parks have cattle guards, gates, or both. Let us know about them when you book. For gates, tell us the opening width, whether it will be open or locked, and the code or who to call. If a gate swings into the drive, note that too, since a trailer needs room to make the turn.
Mud season and monsoon
Dirt roads in Parks change with the weather. Spring snowmelt and monsoon storms, usually from about July into September, can turn firm roads soft. The National Weather Service Flagstaff office, which is actually located in Bellemont, posts local forecasts, fire weather, winter weather, and monsoon information. If heavy rain or snow is coming, we may suggest shifting delivery or pickup by a day so we do not tear up your road or get stuck with a loaded trailer.
Shared and private roads
Some properties are reached by shared roads or easements. If neighbors share the road, it is courteous to give them a heads-up that a truck and trailer will be coming through. It also helps to tell us about any narrow spots, washouts, or low branches along the way.
Picking the placement spot
On acreage, you have options. Good spots are level, firm, close to the work, and easy to back into and pull out of. Avoid septic fields, soft meadow ground, and spots right under overhead lines. If you are not sure, text us a photo and we will help you pick.
Rules for Rural Properties in Coconino County
Parks is unincorporated, so it falls under Coconino County rather than a city. Placing a dumpster on your own private property generally does not need a permit, as mentioned above. Bigger projects can be a different story. If you are tearing down a structure, building a new one, or changing how part of the property is used, contact Coconino County Community Development before you start to find out whether permits apply.
If you live in an area with a road association or deed restrictions, check those as well. Rules about outdoor storage, junk vehicles, or temporary containers can vary by subdivision, and it is better to know before you begin.
Other Disposal Options Around Parks
A dumpster is the easiest way to handle a big cleanup, but it is good to know the other options for items that do not belong in it, or for small loads later on.
- Cinder Lake Landfill: Run by the City of Flagstaff on East Landfill Road. Its landfill page lists current hours and site rules, including that loads must be covered or tied down. Check the page before you go, since hours and rules can change.
- Hazardous Products Center: On the same road as the landfill, for household hazardous waste like paint, oil, pesticides, and batteries.
- County waste tire yard: For tires without rims, per the county flyer linked above.
- Refrigerators and freezers: Appliances with refrigerant need the refrigerant properly removed before disposal, which is why they cannot go in the trailer. Ask us about appliance hauling if you have one to get rid of.
If hauling it all yourself does not sound fun, our Parks junk removal service can load and haul for you.
More Dumpster Rental in Parks Questions
How many dumpsters does an acreage cleanup take?
It depends on how much has built up. Many property cleanups start with one 15 yard trailer and then decide whether they need a swap once the first one is full. Your walk-through notes and photos are the best way to estimate before you start.
Can I keep the dumpster longer while I work on weekends?
Yes. Extra days are a flat add-on. Tell us your schedule when you call, and we will quote the whole window so there are no surprises.
Can I put old fence posts in with concrete still on them?
Ask us first. Concrete is very heavy, and a few posts with footings can add a lot of weight fast. We can tell you how to handle it for your project.
Do you swap trailers on big projects?
Yes. On a large cleanup, we can pick up a full trailer and drop an empty one so you keep working. Being next door in Bellemont makes swaps simple to schedule.
What if I find something I am not sure about?
Set it aside and ask. It is much easier to sort out a questionable item before it goes in the trailer than after.
Can you work around my livestock?
Yes. Let us know about horses or other animals on the property so you can secure them, and tell us about gates that need to stay closed. We will follow your instructions on the property.
